Anyone do the commute from Burke to Ballston? How long is it? I'm asking about regular commuting hours.

I don't know how long but you can take the metro from the springfiled metro station. MY guess is 30 minutes IF you take the metro (depending on where in burke)...45 if not.

I'd say much longer if you take the Metro. The only way to get to Ballston from Springfield is to take the Blue Line in to Rosslyn, switch to the Orange Line, and take that out to Ballston. Checking Metro - Homepage it looks like the trip takes about 45 minutes. Burke to Ballston is a fairly classic suburb - suburb commute (albeit a close in suburb in the case of Ballston) where Metro doesn't work too well. Depending on traffic, Metro may still be the way to go, but I'd see if driving or a bus is viable first. Better yet, the OP could consider something on the Orange Line - Falls Church or Vienna perhaps - which would make the commute a cake walk.
