I am moving into a new apartment in Arlington this weekend. I hired Beltway Movers to send 2 guys with a truck to move my stuff (short move from Fals Church to Arlington, not a lot of stuff). I also bought new furniture that is being delivered to the new place the same day. The furniture delivery guys will set up/assemble the furniture.

Is it customary to tip these guys? How much?

Tipping NEVER goes out of style.

For delivery and set up of a small amount of new furniture, ten dollars per person would buy them a decent lunch.

If a moving van company does an all day job of a whole large house full of items I'd tip at least $25, maybe more.

We had some guys work for 3 days on our new landscaping, immigrant types, down on the hands and knees for hours planting stuff, doing sod, etc. After 3 days I gave them each a $50 tip.

Our roofers worked two full days on the house last fall, gave each guy on the crew $20.

I tip garbage truck guys $20 each at Holiday time, same for our mailman.

Great feeling to see the big smile on someone's face.

Yes I think so. I had furniture delivered last weekend and tipped the two guys $20 each. When I moved I also tipped each of the three movers.

Default Definately Tip

I suggest that with the heat coming the way it is this weekend, you not only tip (10-20 each depending on the job), but buy them a refreshment and offer them a cool place to sit and take a break if they are spending a few hours hauling things.
As for the delivery furniture, i imagine that is a quicker job. Im not sure if they regularly get a tip but calling the store and asking if the delivery personnell usually get a tip couldnt hurt.

good luck!
