All the jobs my husband and I have ever had in this area have been within a 30 minute commute for us.

Most of my commutes have been between 45 min - 1 hr (to DC or Arlington), and for my husband, who works in the dulles corridor, usually under 30 min.

Fairfax county is MUCH cheaper than it was even one year ago and home prices are dropping rapidly - try renting for one year and then you can buy a big house in a nice neighborhood that is also close in. Since the price of gas keeps going up the closer in you buy the better. Just my humble non-native opinion. Enjoy your pizza and bagels before you move.

There's no such thing as NY pizza down here. Nothing compares. Bagels, calzones, REAL Italian subs, nope, not anywhere.

Just watch interest rates - I hear they're going up.
