We have a membership there and I believe we paid $40-$45 dollars and after one shopping trip it paid for itself. Now that we are in Ashburn (and gas prices are so expensive) we are not going there anymore and got a Costco membership b/c it is closer...But I do like BJ's better. (Mainly b/c they sell our diapers brand, lol!)
The only thing is be prepared to wait in line for gas!

It is up to $4.35 at that gas station right next to the Rosslyn Metro station

I know this place hikes the prices b/c of their location...but still!

The Liberty on Rt. 1 (Richmond Hwy.) Alexandria was $4.04 this afternoon, otherwise, everthing I've seen in passing, Duke St., etc. was $4.09-$4.13.

40 something dollars sounds like a pretty good deal.

Hopefully we won't burn too much gas waiting in line!
