Help! Where to buy women's work suits!!
Hi!
I am new to the area. Having just moved from Arizona at a very casual job, I am now in the DC area at a 'power job' and need to know where it would be good to buy some good women's 'power suits'. I have been to three malls and all sorts of stores like TJMaxx.....help!
I'm also somewhat on a budget so I can't afford a $500 suit. I'm 5'8" and about 155lb and need a good suit or two and being new to the area I'm not sure what mall/store/etc would be good. I've been looking on craigslist to no avail.
I'm also in need of stores to buy good work clothes (casual/formal). Any recommendations on stores for that too?
THanks!

Macy's carries alot of suits, I've seen a smaller selection at J.C. Penney.

I would definitely check out Macy's first. Other places with nice business clothes are: Ann Taylor, Talbots and Nordstrom, but they are more expensive (although they can have good sales too).

Nordstroms Off the Rack. I got a great Ann Klein black suit there for $100-can't beat it! There is one in Dulles...near the mall. It is where Bed Bath and Beyond is.
Good luck and welcome to the area!

I love the clothes at Talbots. Yes, they are more expensive but they really hold up. I've gone to the one at Fair Oaks and there is also an outlet store in Springfield where you might luck into some bargains.

If you have not been to Fredericksburg yet, check out Belks at the Spotsylvania Mall (Route 3 West exit off of 95 South - get in the left lane and turn left at the second stoplight.
Twice a year they will do 50% off red-lined prices and I have gotten quality suits for about $40! I so miss that store!!!

You can try some places like Syms, Marshalls and TJ Maxx.. I've had more luck at syms (got a designer pant suit after i was preggo.. not back to my old size but didn't want to spend a lot..- it was calvin klein, nice clean design)..

Are you asking me Fairfax mom? I actually turn off the TV with Hillary so I can't say if it is or not.. BTW I was a defender of you for that whole tipping moving man deal- so please don't rag on me needing to hide my postpreggo body- i'm STILL working on getting back (though "closer").. ..two babies within 2 years- and "older" mom..
