Cool It's Summer! I'm new to NOVA, where can I find a nice beach nearby to catch some sun?

I live in Alexandria, where would I find a nice close beach to catch some sun and relax?

Head to Dewey in Delaware or Bethany or Ocean City.

Although those are three hours drives. Hmmm, there are some closer beaches on the Chesapeake Bay.

There's Fairview Beach if you want to be close but I like Ocean City better even with the 3hr drive.
