Question Reston, VA

Hey everyone. I'm thinking about applying for a job in Reston. What are some of the "safer" areas, or rather, which are the areas to avoid? Also, what is the average cost to rent an apartment/townhouse/condo in those areas, and lastly, what do good homes usually go for (to buy)? Lots of questions, I know, but I like to be informed. Thanks for your help.

Most of Reston is pretty safe. You may want to avoid the Glade area just east of Fairfax Cty Parkway. I live in the South Lakes area and feel quite safe. I'm not sure about rents as I own. Nice houses on the south side of the toll road (less expensive part of Reston) are currently selling between 450K and 700K. Though there are houses for less, I wouldn't recommend those neighborhoods. There are a few for more, but they are mostly lake front houses. Do a search on longandfoster.com for zip code 20191. The other the Reston zips on the north side of the toll road are 20190 and 20194. Most house in 20194 are newer and considerably more expensive.

Thanks for the website and the advice, J. Now I've got an idea as to how much it's going to cost.
