Default safe apartments near ft belvoir

We are on the waiting list for housing and it will be a 3-6 month wait. We need to find a safe 2 bedroom apartment for around 1500 a month more or less. I am really wanting somewhere very safe as we have two small children and a puppy and will have to be outside walking him throughout the day. I'd really like a place with a playground. Do y'all know of any apartments that are good places for families? Thank you in advance.

Jen

I live in the Woods of Fairfax .. corner of Lorton rd and route 1 - close to Ft Belvoir, and pretty safe here. I would get an apartment closer to the entrance though, not sure what is like all the way in the back. Lots of families here and people walking dogs. Rent is reasonable (1 br is $1020, so I'm sure a 2br would fit your price range).
They also have two pools and lots of playground areas around each complex ..

There's another nice apartment complex across the street on route 1 that I almost went into as well, it is a tad bit more expensive, but not sure about safety etc (I can't imagine its bad either)

I am unsure of your meaning for 'safe.' Crime happens anywhere, at any time. There are no counties in VA so 'safe' that police and sheriff's aren't needed. Your expectations may be unrealistic.
