Default Alexandria City Car Tax
To ask the same question about the car tax mentioned in the one for Fairfax County. How much is the rate of car tax for Alexandria City? Last year i paid $92.00 after only having the car for 2 months before the tax bill was due. Any estimates for a 2001 Honda Accord worth around $7-8k?

Would you owe the county plus a city tax/parking fee? I saw that some towns do this.

City of Alexandria, Virginia | Motor Vehicle License and Personal Property Taxes

It's based on the blue book value of your vehicle. I believe you didn't read the bill properly - the bill comes in for the tax AND the registration/sticker, etc.

Update.

Got the bill and paid it yesterday. $133.87. It sucks but could be much worse.
