Default Need locals opinion on Centreville!!!

Hi all,
We have been in Nova for almost a year now, and we are putting an offer in on a townhouse in Centreville. Can some locals tell me their opinions of the middle and high school (Liberty Middle, and Centreville High)? My daughter will be starting middle school this year, so that is my main concern right now. It looks to me that its a family friendly town...am I right on that assumption? Is there anything I should know about this area before making that move??
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Centreville High is well above average. Two or three steps above Manassas schools (C of M, MP, PWC). Centreville was overbuilt with townhomes. It is still a decent part of Fairfax County. I would bet they produce some Academy (Navy, West Point, AF), as well as some Ivy Leaguers, and scores of UVa, JMU, VTech students. Be thankful you don't live in Woodbridge.

I have lived in Centreville for 11 years now. It is a very nice community, especially the areas surrounding Liberty Middle School and Centreville HS. My daughter graduated from Centreville HS. She did not go to Liberty Middle School because it was opened just as she started high school (9th grade). I cannot speak for Liberty MS, but I do know that Centreville HS is a very good school and my daughter excelled academically while attending there . She had some excellent teachers! My daughter was also involved in the music program (Guitar) and loved it. She is an upcoming junior at George Mason University and is doing very well. A lot of her friends that she graduated with from Centreville HS are going to several excellent colleges in VA - Virginia Tech, William & Mary, University of VA, and James Madison University. I personally feel Centreville HS prepares it's students very well academically to face the stiff academic admission requirements/competition of getting into all of these colleges. I am sure your daughter would be happy as a student at both schools and receive a good education! Centreville is a great place for families. One thing we like is the location - it is centrally located in which you can travel in several different directions to shop at more than one mall, eat, go to the movies etc.
