Default Best route I270 or rt. 15

Can any one advise me if it would be better to take Route 15 than I270 from Frederick, MD to Centreville, VA? ( Or any other route) We seem to hit the beltway every time during afternoon rush hour and are wondering if route 15 would be a better route. Our daughter recently moved to Centreville from out of state.
We are just not sure how traffic is on 15 but we definitely know how it is on the beltway around 5pm.

Thanks

During rush hour its a toss up. 66 is right there but the traffic is bad. Try both and see. I wouldnt think there would be more than 10 minutes difference with traffic.

Ever since we moved from inside the beltway to the Centreville area we always take 15 to the Greenway to 28 when coming from a visit in Pennslvania. 270 seems as too much of a round about way to get home. We have never hit too much traffic on 15, but we do try to time it for before or after rush hour but have been on it during. 28 is often backed up due to the lights but by that time we are almost home. Plus, 15 is a much prettier drive. Good luck!
