Hi everyone. I have a 8:50 a.m. flight out of Dulles next week. I'll probably leave my house in Springfield between 6 and 6:30. How bad will the FFX County Parkway be at that time? OK or should I leave earlier? And is that even the best route? Thanks.

That sounds too close if you are parking. My rule always at Dulles is to be at the check-in counter 90 minutes before flight time to allow for checking bags (if you must - watch out for the new baggage fees) and the mobile lounge to the midfield terminal. I know you can now walk to some terminals, but you need time. So in other words, you need to be there at 7:20am, so I guess 6am could work, but 6:30 sounds too close on a weekday morning. Have a safe trip!

I agree--leave at 6. It would take 40 minutes with zero traffic (which is never).

Thanks. Fortunately, my husband is dropping me off so I don't have to deal with parking. I will have a 5-year-old with me though so that'll slow down the process once we get inside the airport.
