Exclamation Purcellville VA Water Treatment Plant

My wife and I were looking at a home in Purcellville VA and noticed that it was near a Water Treatment Plant.

Can anyone tell me if we should be concerned or knows of issues of living near a water treatment plant.

Sincerely,
Steve

If there were issues, the EPA would not let you live near there.

What about the stink? Take a whiff? Do you smell anything? Go on different days at different times of the day and different weather.

Is it definitely water not sewage?

I'm in the UK so not sure if this is 100% relevant to the US. A water treatment plant may occasionally smell of chlorine but not to a hazardous level.

I would live near one no problem.

No its fine Its actually where my nickname comes from - I work for a Water Company in the UK.

To clarify I would live near a water treatment plant (treating water to drink) but not a sewage treatment plant (treating waste for discharge).

First one doesnt smell, second most definitely does!

Default water reclamation plant

what about living in a home near a water reclamation plant - water reclaimed for sprinkling, not drinking. I was reading they use chlorine, bromine and other chemicals to "clean" the water. There are no open vats.
