I currently have a 1 year old daughter and wanted to start the pre-school search early because many places have waiting lists. We are looking for a full-day pre-school in the Burke, Springfield, or Kingstown area. We would prefer christian based if possible but would consider others as well. Any information (good or bad) regarding pre-schools in these areas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wumpy176,

I am actually looking for preschool programs myself, as we will be moving to the Burke area next month. Someone recommended Kiddie Country - that it's a fantastic program, a little bit expensive, but worth it.

St. Stephens preschool on Braddock Rd. in Burke is very good. Most preschool registrations for the Fall take place in the Spring.

I am not sure if most preschools start at 1 year old. Daycares start at 1 yr. old. Are you looking for a preschool or a daycare? There is a big difference.

I have been happy with Chesterbrook Academy in Kingstowne, stay away from the Kindercare near Lane elementary. I have also heard good things about Little Acorn, also in Kingstowne.

I also agree with a previous poster, you are really just getting daycare at that age. Though if you want socialization, etc then it is the right thing to do. I would pick a program that can grow with your child, meeting the daycare, preschool and after school care needs if necessary.
