Default new to cherrydale

I just moved to the Cherrydale area in Arlington. I know absolutly nothing about the area and am having a hard time finding information.

Some questions i have:

1. Where are the grocery stores? I know there is a Wayfield on Lee Highway, but thats all I know.

2. Where is the closet target?

3. What is in the area?

I am living off North Monroe St. and Lee Highway.

ANYTHING would be SO helpful!

Thankyou!!!!

I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding the grocery stores. As for Tarzhay, the nearest one to you is at Seven Corners. That's 3 or 4 miles. There is also one on Route-1 in Alexandria. That's probably 5 or 6 miles. Otherwise, what you see is what you get. If you go a little way down Lee Highway toward DC, you'll find Lyon Village on the left after you go under 66. If you were to go the other way, you'd find stuff as you hit Old Dominion and Glebe, and then just a little farther on, at Harrison.

Hi, welcome to Arlington. Cherrydale is a great neighborhood.

There is a Safeway in Cherrydale; also a mom-and-pop hardware store on 10th or Washington Blvd., I think.

If you want to avoid Seven Corners, go to Potomac Yard off Route 1, where there is a Target, Best Buy, Staples, Barnes & Noble, PetSmart, etc. Just take Washington Blvd/27 south east to the Arlington Ridge exit, turn right on Arl Ridge, turn left on 23rd St. South and turn right on Rte. 1. (There are other ways to get there too that you might find easier). You can mapquest it:

Potomac Yard
3671 Jefferson Davis Hwy
Alexandria, VA 22305

There is a Harris Teeter just north of PY, but there is one closer to you than that, in Pentagon Row, which also has a Bed Bath & Beyond and many smaller stores. Just enter your address at this url:

http://www.harristeeter.com/other/st...e_locator.aspx

There is a Whole Foods on Wilson Blvd that isn't far from you, in Clarendon. Just go east on Clarendon Blvd a couple of miles and you will find tons of restaurants and bars. Also a Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel and Container Store near the Whole Foods.

Hope this helps!

There is also a Target at Skyline on Route 7- plus loots of other shops- I used to live in your area and went to the Target on 50 lots and took back roads-glebe to 50
I recommend getting a map book- I still use it all the time- it has names of the plazas listed in it.
There is a Harris Teeter on Glebe and a Harris Teeter further up on Lee H- toward Falls Church- they also have a Safeway across from it- I like that area- lots of parking and other shops as well.
Good Luck- you moved to a great area!
