Thank you for all of the info. From what I understand there are a few people who I will be working with that make the commute to Winchester. I have also found the George Mason offers classes in the field that I am studying for my Masters, so that was my reasoning for Chantilly and Fairfax.

From what everyone has stated here it looks as if Reston my have a balance of everything that I am looking for. Is there an area of Reston that I should avoid renting in and/or buying in?

Talking about the ride from DC to Winchester... for a student with no car, what is the best way to get between DC and Winchester (or return). Would be sharing with one or two other students, so could divide cost among us. Are there limo or car services in Winchester that anyone could recommend?

If you're lucky enough to have a job in Winchester, it would be in your best interest to live in the area. You will doing it the opposite way if you work in Winchester but live further towards Washington, where the rents go up.

Look in Frederick County for a place to live. Otherwise, get a similar j ob in the Reston/Chantilly area and stay out of Winchester. You'll have much more fun. I guarantee it.
