Just moved to Alexandria and need to find a Hairdresser/Salon. Need good colorist/stylist, not too pricey, not too snotty, friendly atmosphere. Is it too much to ask?

PR at Partners has several salons and they are very good. A bit pricey, but well worth it. I found them b/c of citydata, so I am passing it on to you!

I go to Jessica at Bang! (http://www.bangsalon.com/flash.html - broken link) at Verizon center. I got them off of the Naturally Curly dot com site and I have curly thick yet fine hair that gets colored... needless to say, high maintenance, and they do a great job. 125.00 for cut, color and tip.

I've been going to Bazzak in Old Town and have really liked it. So far I've had 4 different stylists there (mainly because I keep losing their cards) and have never been disappointed. I don't know what color would run, but cut/dry/style is about $60.

I'm very picky and used to drive from Alexandria to Tyson's but have found Jon David in Srpingfield to be very good. Try Omar...

I used to go to Karen King at Windsor of Old Town and then followed her when she went to Jouvance in Pentagon Row. She moved again to Sugarhouse in Alexandria and I was no longer convenient to that so I no longer go to her.

But, with her, I had the best color and cut of anyone.
