Me and my husband are curious in what you all consider to be the most family friendly towns in Northern Virginia (preferably inside or not far outside the beltway). We're looking for a town with lots of kids and plenty of activities for them. We're hoping to start a family in a place with that's great to raise a family.

I'd love all the recommendations i can get! Thanks!

Close to the Beltway, I think that Vienna has the most family-friendly atmosphere of any community in Northern Virginia. By suburban Northern Virginia standards, it's an older and fairly cohesive community with more of a town feeling and with more longtime residents and an older housing stock than you'd find elsewhere in Northern Virginia, with some of the lowest crime and zoned into some of the best schools in the state. It's been talked about a bit on this site and I recommend performing a search (top of the page) on Vienna. Here's one page:

Outside of Vienna, I think inside the Beltway, Falls Church (the city, not the postal code) offers many of the same benefits. I don't think there are as many children there, but it seems to me to be very family-friendly.

Leesburg is right nice. Its where I grew up. Very friendly, and one of the few places in northern virginia you can find natives. Warrenton, is also nice. The whole hunt country scene in Loudoun/Fauquier county is a nice area to live.
