Default Quantico Area

Hi I may be relocating to the Quantico Marine Base and will need to find affordable housing (if there's a such thing) within a 20-25 mile radius from the base. Im looking for a lease option home. I will be renting out my own home since the market in Florida (my current residence) is in a major slump. Does anyone know of any nice but not expensive rent to own single family homes in the area?

Thanks,

What price range are you looking for, how many bedrooms/how big, do you have children and want to be in a good school district?

I think the Ashland community (a few miles off the 95 along route 234) is a nice neighborhood that is close to Quantico. The public schools they go to are pretty good too.

Im looking to pay no more than 1700.00 a month for a single family home rental. I have one young son who is in elementary school. Need at least 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

Doing a quick search on realtor.com, I didn't see very many (hardly any) single family homes for rent under $1700 that close to Quantico. There were a lot of pretty nice townhomes though.

Thanks,
I would go west, Gainesville area. If you are hell bent on staying in the immediate area then- Montclair, Old Bridge Estates, Oak Farm Drive, or Westridge. Anything off of Hoadly is good as well. Anything else is iffy or near iffy places.

I think it might be hard to find a single family home for rent under $1700 in the Gainesville area...I looked a bit on NVFH.com and saw a few single family homes in Fredericksburg area about $1700. That would put you just about at the 25 mile radius the OP wanted. I'm not familiar enough with the Fredericksburg to suggest a specific area, though.

Keep in mind if you do Stafford/Fredericksburg area, you will be in heavy traffic heading north on I-95. I would recommend getting a place north of Quantico, so you can drive a few exits south on 95 against-the-flow. There should be a good amount of homes for rent around 2000 (you might have to up your figure just a bit, or consider townhomes) along the 234 corridor, west of 95. Parts of Manassas, south Woodbridge, Gainesville, Bristow sound like a good bet.
