If they do not have to drive into the city then Centreville is perfect.
Let me guess...you're based in Centreville....

Actually, if you do your homework & don't go out blindly ready to purchase a home, it can be a buyers market nearly anywhere. I bought my place just over a year ago & got OUT of Centreville. I wanted a single home on my OWN land. No HOA for me. Got a sweet deal on 1/2 acre for a lot less than a c-ville townhome.

Fairfax County prices have declined 22% since last year. Period. I'm not "making" the numbers say anything.

But, to your credit, you're right that not all of Fairfax County is declining at the same rate. In fact, Centreville has declined more than 22%. Here are the official August 2008 statistics for the Centreville zip codes:

---------------------------------
-- August 2008 vs. August 2007 --
---------------------------------
20120 -23%
20121 -28%

I agree blatant advertising. Finally others point that out. Please go to an all business or home finding site. We want opinions and not home finding exactly along the lines of what your trying to do. This is neighbor helping neighbor manner of doing things here more so.
