Can you be more specific as to where in Nova you will be? Nova spans A LOT of territory!

I found that furnished apartments are so expensive! Do you have a company paying for it?
If not, definitely try out this tactic:
-sublet someone's apartment (i.e. take over their lease) that has only 6 months left on the lease.
-buy decent used furniture on craigslist.
-when you move 6 months later, sell the same furniture back on craigslist.
What do you think?

That sounds like a really good idea - thanks for your input.

Although you have to be careful, I also recommend looking at places on Craig's list. When we relocated, we were able to sublet a furnished SFH for 4 months for half the price of a corporate apartment. Another option, although most are unfurnished, is to look for rentals on militarybyowner.com. Most people are looking for a year lease, but some are willing to negotiate short-term leases.
