Do you know of any dealers in the area who specialize in home theater systems? I have some sense for what I need but given the very specific needs - particular brand and model of speakers, a different brand of sub-woofer and a receiver that works well with these seemingly random picks - I could use some "expert" help.

Thoughts?

Try Audio Buys. They put in our system and did a great job. No retail sales clerks, just experts in home theater systems and offering top of the line equipment.

Myer Emco is no longer in business. I would listen to as many speakers as you can in stores. Speaker's sound tend to widely differ from brand to brand. I had my eye on a set of Klipsch speakers a few years ago until I listened to them. With a receiver make sure it's wi-fi enabled and has several HDMI ports. I have a Denon and I'm super happy with it. As far as speakers go I listened to just about every brand short of the super pricey stuff. I couldn't find anything I was happy with at the big box stores. I ran across some reviews online on speakers by a company called Axiom. Their products are amazing. You can't find a better sounding speaker in any of the larger chain stores. The only speaker that can touch them are twice the price. Axiom's Products - AxiomAudio
I have an Epic 80 system set up for 7.1 surround. The only place I've heard better audio is at a IMAX theater.
