My husband and I are ready to move our 5 month old and 3 year old out of their in home day care and into a center...we've had some major issues with supervision.
Please, any suggestions would help. I work in the 22311 zip and he works in 22303, so anywhere near or between those....we're commuting from Lake Ridge, so we would also consider anything along the way to work. We are trying to get them out soon, so any suggestions would help!!!! Thanks!

try a actual center like minnieland (they are in the area) or see if goddard is in the area. I took my daughter to a minnieland in fredericksburg that was good and they had cameras in the rooms so everything was monitored. it really depends on the workers and director if you end up with a good one or not. you will know after going into a few of them which one is best for your children.

If you have some major issues with your current child care provider, take them out NOW. Not in a week but right now, before anything bad happens.

And as soon as you remove your children, report the provider to whoever does licensing.

Everyone is really good at telling me what I know I have to do, but that wasn't my question. My post was about finding another day care center. Thank you to those who have helped.

I have been very happy with Chesterbrook Academy. I know they have one in Woodbridge, as well as one in Kingstowne that I use. Depending on how you get to work the one in Kingtowne might be doable. There are a couple Kindercare's in the area, but I wouldn't recommend them. I prefer to choose a facility closer to work than home, if they are significantly apart. But as they get older it gets complicated as they will go to school nearer your home, and you want a place that provides transporation.

Yes, there are a large number of daycare facilities in the Kingstowne area (zip codes 22315 and 22310). I can't recommend any because I haven't used them but as slduvall said, they might be a workable distance from your husband's job in 22303. For the long-term, just be aware that you need to be a Fairfax County resident to use Fairfax County schools so as your three-year-old reaches school age you'd need something closer to home. But you have plenty of time before then. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but commend you for dealing with it and wish you luck. Maybe this will be helpful:

Sorry, but adding 2 cents on this board comes w/ the territory. You said you know you have to get them out as soon as possible, but what about taking some time off to do a thourough search? While I think that having someone else raise infants is wrong per my personal opinion, I think it's normal to respond with some emotion when it comes to children.

Remember you posted about your kids and people tend to protect kids-anyones kids. Euro didn't mean anything bad by her comment...just worried for your kids.
Good luck. When we looked into daycare centers (decided to stay at home afterall) we didn't like Chesterbrook here in Ashburn, but we did like Kindercare. It all depends on that facility...take a day off of work and go check them out. Explain your concerns and see their reactions.

Thanks to those with pertinent, non-judgemental information, I will look into the suggestions.
We are teachers, so taking time off is not so easy.
By the way, no one will be raising my children other than my husband and me...we have them in day care so that we can go to work to provide for them. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but really, did I ask?
