I second this. The garage at Duke and Pickett are fair, competent, and friendly to boot.

Clyde's in Alexandria (off of Beauregard) has the best wings
Must try. Looks to be pricey though.
Rockland's BBQ in VA Square has great BBQ
No argument here, pricey but worth it!

I would add that there is another Rocklands location South Quaker Lane, just off of Duke St in Alexandria. I think they are great but my wife disagrees.

Weiler's Landscape was great to work with when I had an old patio torn out and new one installed.
Jack Taylor Alexandria Toyota service is consistently competent, polite, reasonably priced - and gives coupons. When I took my car in recently for an oil change they noticed I needed a VA inspection. Thanks for helping me avoid getting a ticket, or worse!

We recently had some work done in our house by S&D Improvements in Alexandria. We could not have been happier with the quality of work and thie reliability of the team. I would highly recommend them!

Brown's Key and Lock (or maybe it's Lock and Key)? Duke Street. I went in w/blanks for Steelers and Packers and wanted house key's cut - Steelers one was okay, didn't know that you need either Schlage or..forget the other name. They cut the one they were able to and didn't even charge me!!! Will certainly give them business again.

For absolutely authentic Chinese (my friend from Taiwan took me there) try
Hong Kong Palace in 7 corners off of rt. 7. Fantastic food and very reasonable prices.

Old Town Deli in Alexandria makes great tasting and fresh food. They actually have pics that show you what your food will look like cooked.

That's the place on Washington Ave. just north of King St, right? I've been meaning to stop in there but never took the opportunity to do so.
