Default Sterling via Arlington or Alexandria
What would you expect commute times to be going to Sterling from Arlington, from Alexandria? What is best time to leave before 9:00a.m?

Since you will be leaving from the opposite of traffic it shouldn't take more than 40 to 50 minutes, depending on what roads you take. So just to be safe I'd say leave a little before 8, just to check it out. Generally the traffic in the morning is from the Loudoun County area towards Arlington/Alexandria or DC.

I used to leave at 8:35 from Sterling to get to work at Arlington by 9:30. HOV opens at 9:00 am at 66 in the Tysons area. Your goal is to get on it right as it opens. It will save you 15-20 min if you time it correctly.

what is evening commute time retruning to Arlington from Sterling and is there a better time to leave between 5:00 and6:30?
