I am relocating to Fredericksburg, VA and have the choice of Cox or Comcast cable/internet services. I'd appreciate any advice from people experienced with these companies. Thank you.

After living with Cox in Fairfax County for a few years and now Cox in Alexandria for the last several months, I see them as giving virtually the same service. My lady says she finds online bill-paying easier with Comcast than Cox.

Are you certain that you can get two cable services in one city? Or is it actually a difference between the city of Fredericksburg and the surrounding towns?

I think the question was worded improperly , or the information is incorrect.

We recently moved from Spotsylvania and used Comcast. I experienced several outages, and we often called customer service and normally was pleased with the result. I will say the technicians that did service calls were always excellent.

I have Comcast here too and have not experienced an outage in 10 months.

It is, in fact, possible. I live a little further south and we have the option of Verizon or Comcast. I just switched from Comcast to Verizon 2 weeks ago.

That is true BacOs , but Verizon is provided by the phone line, and Comcast service is provided by the coax line.

Actually, Verizon is provided through FiOS. It goes through the cable line once it hits our house.

Yes both goes thru the cable line inside your house, but not outside the house to the pole. You cannot have Cox and Comcast as a choice; you can only have Verizon & Cox , or Verizon and Comcast.
