No, that's Sami. Sami used to own the Shell station on Franconia Rd. and is a good guy. He used to let me order Porsche parts through his WorldPak account at his cost and I lived two miles from his station back then. So much nicer than dealing with online parts suppliers and paying shipping. Sami has a 993 C2S, but is not much of a Porsche expert. He used to ask me for help with his car - ha ha. Taylor is the Porsche guru there and is the best in the area. I don't know the BMW guy there, but Taylor runs the show and he's as honest and fair as the day is long.

Is this Sami guy from Turkey? Very interesting..
Anyway, I am another BMW owner and i currently have 67,000 miles on my car. When i renewed my maintenance plan, (when it was at 50,000) they gave me the option of purchasing a warranty plan just in case. I did not take the warranty plan but i renewed my maintenance. I was stupid. Having the passenger window repaired cost me $500! So, If i were you, i would go ahead and purchase the warranty, and extend my maintenance instead of looking for a cheap place.

Why would you take your car to a dealer for anything not covered by a warranty? Just send me $500 and I'll mail you the window regulator you need and walk you through the 30 min. repair on the phone. You probably spent more time than that driving to and from the dealer. It's a $50 part and 30 min. job. Any independent shop would have charged you under $200.

Ok, but you don't have to know anything about cars to know that the stealer is ALWAYS the most ridiculously, overpriced, worst place to go. There are probably 10 shops within walking distance of BMW of Fairfax that could have done it for a fraction of the price. About 10 yrs. ago when I took my car to that dealership for a recall repair, they handed it back to me with NO ANTIFREEZE in it.

Try Funktion Auto in Dulles. Hubby takes his car there for things outside the warranty.

If you are ever in the Rockville Md area try BMW Excluservice. I used to work for Lothar Schuettler many years ago. At that time it was the top shop in the area for BMW service.
