Could anyone please reccommend a kid-friendly town, close to Quantico, reasonable housing, safe, quiet? I may be getting a job on base, and would love an area north of Quantico (that way I could drive against traffic in the morning). I will be teaching at the elementary school there, so I guess I would need to be there by 7:00am. And from what I'm reading about the traffic, I may need to leave at 5:30, if I choose an area at least 20 minutes away!

How far or how close do you want to be to Quantico? If you want to be close then the area of Montclair would work well. Plenty of kids and a nicer neighborhood. There is a townhome community there close to Dumfries Rd (Rt 234) and then the rest of this large planned community are single family homes. If you don't mind longer commutes then I'm sure others can recommend areas maybe in Fairfax.

She's looking for a kid-friendly town so I wouldn't recommend Nokesville. I like the Nokesville area and almost moved there years ago but if she's looking for an area with plenty of kids for hers to play with I'd suggest an area with plenty of neighbors. That won't be the case in Nokesville.

And minutes from Gainesville where the is some life, lol. I'm an expert in this area and have been in every nook and cranny of Northern Virginia because of my profession, so let me know if I could find you anything.

Stafford, is just so far from Fun Life, unless you like Big F-450's and mudd bogging, only kidding. More family style and is affordable, just to far from anything. I know people who have settle on Stafford because it's really affordable.

Hope I was a help
