King Street Cats in Alexandria is a shelter for homeless cats. King Street Cats - (703) 231-7199 - Adopt a Cat Today!

Maybe there is a similarly named animal hospital that you are thinking of - maybe Kingstowne Cat Clinic or Kingsview Animal Hopsital? Both are check-rated.

Caring Hands in Arlington....on the border of Alexandria- excellent!!! All the people there are wonderful and I had many people from work recommend them as well for dogs and cats. When my dog got sick recently the VET called me many times to check on her! Great place!!!

Thank you ACWhite. I need help with my Chihuahua and got tired of getting beat up by Banfield Hospital in PetsMart. I looked up Kingsview Animal Hospital and it has excellent reviews. I and my Chihuahua THANK YOU!

Out of curiosity, what is the standard cost of a routine check-up for a cat (no health problems)? I use the VCA Animal Hospital in Old Town, but can't tell if I'm overpaying or not. The service is fine, no complaints, though I feel like I can't walk out of there paying less than $150 (the check-up itself is $60, plus fees, and usually some Frontline, but even without the meds it's usually about $100). When I took my parents' cat to the vet in Philadelphia it was usually ~$60-70 total each time.

I can't remember the exact rate... but I'm pretty sure that Springfield Animal Hospital charged less than $100 for a check-up on each of our cats. It may have even been closer to the $60-70 you paid back in Philly. Granted, Springfield is a bit of a trek from Alexandria... but then again you wouldn't be helping to pay Old Town rent. I'd give them a call to ask their typical rates.

does Biscuit Break do house sitting along with pet sitting? I would like to find someone who will stay at my house with my dogs while I am on vacation. Not just check on them here and there but live here with them.
