Looking at some options to move in the Columbia Pike Arlington area. I wonder if someone could give me an idea of the area there. Is it safe?

Single guy in his late 20's, grew up in the suburbs of NOVA.

Specifically Frederick Court Condominiums?

That's not one of the nicer stretches of Columbia Pike. I don't know anything about the complex specifically, but I,personally, probably wouldn't rent in that area. Closer to the Pentagon on Columbia Pike is nicer.

I am a 20 something woman who lives here alone and I just have to say the previous post is so untrue! I live at Frederick Courts and I love it here. The neighborhood is more multicultural than pcity might be used to, but it is clean and safe. There are world-class Ethiopian, Thai, Mexican, Peruvian restaurants, nightclubs, a Trader Joe's, and a Borders/Safeway/Starbucks all within walking distance. I feel totally safe here and I love my neighborhood, one of the oldest and most vibrant in the Northern VA area.

The bus lines to Pentagon and downtown DC run right past our door every 10 minutes.

This area is a steal to live in, way cheaper than other parts of Arlington because some people can't handle that it's not the yuppie, Irish-pub kid scene (btw, there's an Irish Pub opening four blocks away in a few month). My advice: get in now while its still cheap and before the Orange Line frat boys take over.
