The best..........in Old Town Alexandria, (or close by)
Happy New Year!
As of 1/1/09 we are officially moved into our place in Old Town Alexandria! Of course with an exciting move also comes the task of finding new doctors, dentists...etc. So I am hoping anyone with positive or negative feedback about any of the following in or around Alexandria will share. It is greatly appreciated!
Doctor
Gyn
Dentist
Optometrist
Hair Salon for woman or men
Dog Groomer
Or anything else you might think is good information to have! Thank you all so very much for the advice and all the help people of this community have offered in the past!

Can't help on any of the others, but I like Bazzak hair salon. Even though I moved to DC, I still come to OT for my haircut. It's decent, and not as expensive as other salons. For the Gyn, my friend went to one in the Bradlee shopping center (King & Braddock Road), and definitely advised against it.

It requires an annual subscription, but I am also new to Alexandria/NOVA and have found checkbook.org to be invaluable for recommending doctors, kennels, and various home contractors.

I too am new to Alexandria, but so far have found Pretty Pets on RT 1 is good for dog grooming. For people haircutting and coloring, try a new shop in Old Town called TLC. Young, the owner, does a good, very reasonable job.

I really like my dentist:

2835 Duke Street (it's in those townhouse dr. offices across Duke from the Shell station near Generous Georges) - Gyn. I have used since forever is in Vienna. We also really liked Alexandria Animal Hospital (also on Duke).
