Ashburn Sport Bounce

Sport Bounce of Loudoun

Gaithersburg RIO Entertainment Center - movies, arcades, indoor golf, etc.

Haven't been to this place in at least five years but it seemed to have a lot of kids running around. From the web, it seems that a lot of new stores have built up around it.

So besides the REC centers, which have spotty programs for non scheduled nonorganized play, everything for kids is outside Fairfax/Arlington Counties? I'm finding it hard to find cheap, free play zones in Fairfax/Arlington, tho' I got a great list of stores from Springfieldiva to take the toddler to..

When my kids were preschoolers, the City of Falls Church opened its community center gym to young children and their parents on Friday mornings. They could bring their tricycles, balls etc. We were living in Arlington then, but the program was free and not restricted to city residents. Here's a link to the community center -- maybe they are still offering this program. Community Center
If you kids are able to swim in deep water, you could try the Fairfax County rec center pools, which usually have open swim on weekend afternoons from 2-4, with a huge inflatable water toy (like an island in the pool) that the kids can climb onto and jump off. It's not free, but it's cheaper than a movie.

There is a rock climbing wall place on Eisenhower in Alexandria. Spotty hours though last I checked. Chuck E Cheese is ok but pricey, there is also Dave and Busters in Maryland, and Jeepers (indoor amusement park) in Rockville. You could ride down to Fredricksburg to Funland. Then there are those museums mentioned. The library. There is a childrens museum somewhere out near the Baltimore Aquarium. Movies and rec centers are nice and a little cheaper.
