Right, no additional schools tax. The only other tax I can think of would be the personal property tax (car,boat, camper).

One other thing to consider however in the cost of house v. cost of taxes (as mentioned in reference to Loudoun County) is that while the cost of the house may be more elsewhere, that is an asset that (maybe not right now...) will appreciate over time and on which you gain more and more stake as your mortgage balance decreases. Taxes on the other hand, do NOT typically go down, nor is the payment you making going to increase any stake of ownership you have in your home.

So while you may pay more for that same house in Fairfax or Prince William Counties....you're paying those dollars to yourself (to some degree) in the end....the funds paid to property taxes are just....Pooof! Gone.
