Default School Board

Hmmmm....just wondering: Can a school system employee (i.e. classroom teacher) run for school board for the county in which she is employed?

I believe that you can, but bear in mind, the ramifications should you win-you would be cited for conflict of interest from the get go.

Yes! Several school board members are former teachers, but not sure if they worked in FCPS.

Right, those are former teachers. I was thinking of current employees.

I was thinking, "Hey, I would be good at that". Realistically I wouldn't have the time to devote while working. It was just a passing thought. The conflict of interest thing would be a bear.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe it's allowed to be on the School Board in the same district in which you are currently teaching.
