I'm trying to find out how long it will take me to drive from Falls Church to DC using the I-66 HOV lanes. Google Maps says it's 22 minutes from West Falls Church Metro or 29 minutes from the Rte 50 onramp to 495 -- without traffic. What's the real-world time in traffic? I would be driving at around 7:00 AM.

Thanks for your help, this will help me decide whether or not I should pursue buying a house in Falls Church!

If you are leaving at 7 AM and have another passenger (so you can travel on I-66 when the HOV restrictions are in effect), 25 minutes to DC is about right. Traffic is worse later in the morning, and the HOV restrictions are lifted at 9 AM.

Those times from Google maps sound like they include traffic. It has never taken me that long without traffic.
