I am traveling for work to Springfield, VA next month. I am flying into Reagan and intend to take the Blue Line to the Springfield Station.

Could anyone tell me how much it would cost to take a cab from the Metro to my office in Newington?

Also, if you could point me in the direction of obtaining fares from Newington back to my hotel in Springfield (Loisdale Road near the mall), I would appreciate it.

Normally I fly into BWI and rent a car, but this time flights into Reagan weren't so expensive.

TIA for your help.

I use cabs all the time to get to and from the airport, and live in Newington near the office/industrial park area. From Loisdale to offices in newington should run you around $10-$15 each way.

Thanks, MattVA. I appreciate the feedback. Looks like I'll be spending about $60 in cab fare for all of my trips. My boss will like that - much less than the quote I got to book the rental car!

Yes, that cabs are waiting there at the Metro stop and Newington isn't far. And the hotel is very close too. You planned this well! If for some reason you end up needing a rental car while at the hotel, Enterprise is right there too.

You could walk from Metro to Loisdale Rd. (Hilton or Quality Inn). About .6 miles. You could cut through the mall. I agree with the cab quotes; 10-15. Springfield Cab was, at least formerly, located in Newington Industrial Park, so they should be easy to catch. There are free mall shuttles to/from Metro. That could shorten your outside walk from the mall to The Hilton to six minutes. There is a good Thai Restaurant on the Loisdale/Springmall Dr. part of the permiter.

Thanks, nwlv. I didn't realize there was a free shuttle to the Mall from the Metro. That helps!

LOL - Thanks!

This isn't my first trip to Newington, but it is the first time I've gone there w/o a car. It's great that there are so many options to get around. I think between cabs, the Metro, and any pitying coworkers willing to give me a ride, I'll be okay.
