Winchester, VA
I love Winchester. I personally do. Its not such a small town as it makes out to be. It has enough of everything. There are lots of hotels, lots of restraunts, lots of places to shop, movie theater....
i love it. If anyone is looking into moving to Winchester, VA, i completely recommend it. It is a suburb. Neighborhoods with country side and just a couple hours away there is VA Beach. And Winchester is right beside the Shenendoah Valley river.
Cold winters.
Hot Summers.
Mild Springs.
Warm Autumns.
Just how its supposed to be.

(Sigh). Thanks for getting my hopes up! LOL! I just did some research into Winchester and LOVE it! Then I did Mapquest and found out a one-way commute for me to Herndon would be over an hour! Oh well! It may still be a fun day-trip possibility!

Winchester is awesome. I have a friend from high school that now resides there, I visit him twice a year, and I look forward to the trip every time. The city just has this great old time feel to it, it's surrounded by absolutely beautiful and stunning country side....oh, and there's some great wineries in the area too.

Maybe I'll run into you. I usually go down once in the Summer and once in the Fall.

I love Winchester. It's a real cool small town, with a very vibrant downtown with restaurants and shops. I wish my hometown in NC would mirror there downtown like Winchester's. Front Royal is also nice too. I recommend traveling down Skyline Drive if they visit the area, the views are breathtaking.

Scranton...
Look at Leesburg. Has alot of the same things that winchester has with ALOT less commute time. Historic old town, courthouse, summer concert series, 4th of july parade etc... Also it has a great community rec center IDA LEE.
commute to Herndon...30-40minutes. On a good day, with light traffic and hitting all the lights right...20-25. I used to drive from Leesburg to Reston in 20 minutes after 9am.
Winchester is a neat town BUT Way too far to commute to Herndon.

Visiting in Nov and hopfully moving there soon after.
Me and my husband are possibly moving to winchester in early or late december. Were going to visit and check out the area the second week in November. Do you have any suggestions on any particular places (resturants, shops, bakeries, ect.) we should stop by to see if we would like to move there??

What are townhouse rental prices like in Winchester and Leesburg? Any idea what commute times to Chantilly are like from either town?
I've been to downtown Winchester and it is a real gem. Don't know a whole lot more about the town than that, but it's a good start!
