What do people think the impact of the Metro extension through Tysons to Dulles and the proposed redevelopment plans for Tysons will be?

Massive disruption and traffic jams?

Too many people living in Tysons in the future?

Better transportation options?

Increase/decrease in commercial/residential property values?

There's already massive traffic jams in Tysons, try driving thru there during the week. It's all hype about nothing. And it's one of the worst planned areas in the world.

Property values and rents always increase within walking distance of a Metro station. It's not like Atlanta where some "fear" the expansion of their rail system.

One would assume that builders develop more housing along the Tysons stops, so there will certainly be an increase of people in that area. However, between those new residents and the Metro option, that should mean less people in the conga line in and out of town... hopefully.

Construction will certainly make traffic even more of a nightmare - although there would be similar disruption with road widening - but I believe it will be worth it in the long run. I wouldn't be surprised to see it head out to Leesburg eventually... although probably not in any of our lifetimes.
