While the homes and complexes along the parts of Route 1 South that I saw as a resident are structurally sound, the attitudes of many residents I encountered wasn't exactly uplifting or inspiring. All of that said, I still maintain my often-repeated suggestion for aspiring homeowners to buy in the Route 1 area now before the Fort Belvoir BRAC expansion gets into full swing.

I cant say that Rt 1 South dont have some good folks though. I know a few good blue-collar folks, business owners, old folks, and nice immigrants who stay down there. But when it comes down to it, there are too many bad apples down there that overshadow the good ones.

As for your BRAC suggestion, i totally agree. Same thing i'm trying to tell my mother about Ft. Knox, KY. She wants to wait to buy, i'd say go ahead and buy and get some equity.
