Default Commute from Tysons Corner to Old Town?

Any idea how bad the morning traffic is going on 495 from around Tysons Corner to the south end of Old Town (around Washington and Jefferson St.)?

In a word: very bad. (OK, that's two words. )

But seriously... unless you're leaving around 6:00 in the morning, that's sure to be a crawl.

Eh? That's against traffic, unless it's gotten worse since I did that commute a year ago. Outer loop N-S to south Alexandria isn't that bad. Might hit a little bit of slowdown as you get closer to the Wilson Bridge, but it's not anywhere near as bad as the inner loop. Looking at the Google Maps traffic it's not bad at all.

You know... most of the time I go by personal experience and knowledge, sometimes I go by an educated guess. This time I went with the latter and I have no problem admitting that I could be wrong. Granted, the few times I've gone the opposite direction during non-rush hour, it seemed to take about an hour. But as the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

Yead you'd take 495 to Alexandria. Before I hit 395 I am on the beltway and yeah you're going against trafffic commute would be about 30. Depending on where in Tysons you stay.
