About the 1990 house - to me that is a "newer" home - only 20 yrs old and all that stuff needs to be replaced - I think things last longer in older homes.
My parents had the same furnace for 40 years - now it seems a furnace lasts maybe 15 or 20. Sad.

Yeah, I don't think I would exactly call that Ashburn house an "amazing deal". Looks pretty beat-up and outdated. Maybe it seems like a good deal compared to the rest of your neighborhood, though.
