Default decks

We are looking to add a wood deck to the back of our house. We are in PW county. Any recommendations on companies? We are not able to do it ourselves so that option has already been vetoed. Thanks.

PWHI (Prince William Home Improvement) seems to be one of the bigger ones in the area, but also the most costly. The bigger companies will have more overhead, money spent on advertising, etc making them more expensive. Recent smaller ones I have seen in the mail are JTJ Custom, AndrewZ Home Improvement, and NorthCraft Builders...although I cannot speak to their reputation or quality.

We are looking at building one, also. Just trying to decide now between wood, composite, or PVC.

We already got our estimate from Prince William Home Improvement. They were very informative and seem to have a great product but a little pushy. They wanted us to sign a contract that day and it was our first estimate. They were also at my house for three hours! We decided on wood because of the price and I didn't like the look of the composites. I guess if you want it to look like wood then you should get wood.

Definitely. Yeah, we had PWHI out at our house, and it took FOREVER like you said to get him out. I really didn't care to see 5 binders of their company history and testimonials. Make sure you check out at least 1 or 2 other companies, as I'm sure they will be much cheaper.

We are leaning towards TimberTech composite, seems better than Trex from what I have researched. If you are leaning towards wood, I know cedar is very popular, and for a little more money the high-end Ipe exotic wood seems to last the longest.

I am late on this posting but I have seen Builder Fence Co. in Aldie do outstanding work and they come out quickly for estimates. Ted Hall is one of the sales managers. Good luck!
