Don't worry Richmonder27. Jealousy will get you everwhere. So sorry that you're so Jealous of Northern Virginia.
I don't blame you for spamming posts all over city-data about Richmond this versus Northern Virginia. Haaaaaahahaha.. You're just one of a few that think that of Richmond. And the ones that do, consider the satelite dish as the state flower. Haaaaaahaaaahahaha! What an awesome weekend this is.

What you describe is culture, this is America, and if you have a locality which is safe, nice, has a lot of parks, libraries, and good schools-you have the American dream. That culture term is overused. If you mean is Northern Virginia as cultured as DC-no, and Thank God it isn't. DC is fine, and some good neighborhoods can be found there-how safe is it though? How are the schools? The same can be said of other urban areas, nope, for an area with well over a million and half people-Northern Virginia has a great culture-a culture of contentment-save for whiners, who don't know what they have until it's gone. I have lived in DC and have traveled to many other so-called "cultured" places and none made me feel more at home save for NOVA. I do not think NOVA is better than other parts of Virginia, the Richmond area has nice neighborhoods, as does Tidewater and others. I am sorry, if some here are overly proud of their home turf-I like it, but, there are other great Virginia places too.

Let me guess Alanboy. You live in Northern Virginia but you can't wait to move out. Let me guess where. Could it be LA? SF? NYC? Chicago? No. It's some country hickville town in Tenesee or Alabama or some other country state! Haaaaahaaahahahahahah!!
If that is your liking, no wonder you, Richmonder27, and the other country folks hate Northern Virginia. Haaaaaaaaahaaahahahahaha!!
I'm going to get a heart attack from laughter! I can see you guys using straw from your hay collection to floss your teeth between missing teeth. Trying to get that southern smoked pork out of your mouths.
Please move out of Northern Virginia and move to your country hickville place and listen to Alan Jackson all day long. Haaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaaahahahah!!

Yes i hate Northern Virginia and defintely moving. For your information it is to Louisville, KY. It aint exactly country (750k residents) and very charming urban neighborhoods.
So i guess that anyone in Virginia that aint in Northern Virginia is country? Well i guess that my hometown of Hampton (145k residents) and Richmonder's of Richmond (180k residents) are the biggest small country towns in America? Never mind that our towns have skyscrapers and nice river views.
I have all my teeth and have no hay around me and didnt have it back in Hampton.
I dont even know who Alan Jackson is. For your information Louisville and Kentucky actually have a growing rap circuit going. Ever heard of Nappy Roots, R Prophet? Ever heard of Nicole Scherzinger, native Louisvillian. But i guess KY is still very country and stupid.
One question for you , have you even been to Richmond or Hampton? I may bash Northern VA a lot, but at the end of the day i live here so this is based on pure experience while some posters bash the non-NoVA Virginia without setting foot outside Loudoun or Prince William counties.

Yes to me Louisville is still country. I've been to Richmond and Hampton many many times. I'd take Hampton over Richmond without a thought. But they're both still country to me. Especially Richmond.
I'm not saying Northern Virginia is urban. Compared to cities like NYC Northern Virginia is country. But the rest of Virginia is really country. And Louisville is more country than Hampton.

No offense popalnet, but this thread was at least somewhat civil...so lets try to keep it that way.
We appreciate the pictures you posted but no need to continually bash a forum member or a particular city or area. And if you must insult the area (lol) please try to do so in a somewhat tactful manner...
But...back to the thread topic...I guess this last page especially shows that different areas are more suited for some people than others.

I treat people they way they teach me to treat them. So it's okay for posters to bash Northern Virginia like Richmonder27 does as well as Alanboy, but it's not okay for me to bash the rest of Virginia?
In that case I don't agree with your suggestion and I will continue to bash the rest of Virginia as long as the rest of Virginia keeps on bashing Northern Virginia. Especially when posters like Richmonder27 lie about how Northern Virginia is a bunch of SUV driving people who loves Redskins and people who go out to TGI Fridays all the time. And the other lies about how Northern Virginia is s a bunch of strip malls. When one throws a bunch of lies I like to set the truth.
I would not insult Richmonder27 if he says he states true deep reasons why he hates a place. He just bashes it with lies, and I bash back with the truth. I'll admit that I do need to user more politically correct terms and NOT use terms like "hickville" or "Redneck" or "Straw/hay" I'm human so I can be forgetful and make mistakes.

TY 540-804 - I hate all the negativity that some posters present. Honestly: if you don't like it leave, if you don't live here, don't express an opinion.

Hey.... Virginia is for lovers not fighters
I think the Commonwealth is highly unique. You can get a little bit of everything in every section of the state.
Richmond is an excellent town full of history, culture, and a good place to raise a family. Richmond has its own style and flare and you can still get sweet tea there
I have not lived in NOVA but I have always seen NOVA of the D/M/V business and government climate. It is the business environment of NOVA that demands the culture, ethnicity, and experience. A large portion of the population has likely relocated for school and/or work. I guess what I am trying to get too is that NOVA appears to be more of a manufactured cosmopolitan city rather than a true reflection of its core/roots. I may be wrong but this is my impression.
