General Washington Dr. in Woodbridge
Hi! We are coming down in a few wks to check out the areas we are researching and I am questioning some of the houses listed on real estate sites on General Washington Drive. It seems like they are a little less expensive than other areas and there are a lot of them. Is something wrong in this area? I also found one or two bank foreclosures..concerned there is a reason. Any info you can provide would be great. thanks!

We live right around the corner off of Spriggs Road and like the area. The only reason I can figure that there are so many bank owned properties there is because of when they were built and purchased. I don't think of anythng wrong with the area.

tgbwc: thanks for the post-it is nice to hear from someone who is from the neighborhood. Do you have kids and if so, like the schools there? It looks very family oriented and despite some of the negative posts seen here, I'd like to go and view it myself. We're from Upstate NY and may be relocating because of work. Thanks again and any suggestions will be appreciated. http://pics3.city-data.com/forum/ima...lies/smile.gif

Hi! We recently visited the homes on General Washington, we too are looking to buy a home! They are very nice homes, on decent sized lots, I was wondering why there were so many for sale or in foreclosure too. I think part of it might be because of what the person said about the timing of buying the homes, however, I think it might also have to do with the neighborhood that adjoins to Saratoga Hunt. The homes are much smaller, much older, and very run down, also there is a church in the subdivision and that may cause traffic problems on the weekends and evenings, I am not sure but that is what I can tell you from someone who is not from the area and is looking for a place to move our family! Good Luck

Agree with all above points about Saratoga Hunt. The homes are by KHovnanian, and most were bought it seems in 2006-2007 range, and have since lost 100K plus in value. It is also hard to pull out of the neighborhood, especially if you are going to make a left onto Minnieville Road. I know they are widening Minnieville currently, so I don't know if there are plans to put in a traffic light for the neighborhood. One point is that there is no community center/pool for this neighborhood. If you are looking in this area, I would also check out Lake Terrapin (same builder), Spriggs Run Estates (Lennar Homes), Ewell's Mill (NVP Inc) for newer homes, and Ashland for existing homes.
