Moving to winchester va
Hi,
My son will be attending Pharmacy school at Shenandoah University this fall. It is close to Winchester Medical Center. Can someone recommend the best places to live close by. Apartments or houses okay.
Also, see apartments called Dove Landing.. Anyone know where this is and if they are nice...
All helpful hints appreciated. Want somewhere safe and clean...
Thanks

If you can get to Winchester and ask any of the police officers there you'll find out where and where not to live. By police most agencies don't let their officers advise people on matters like this but officers do it anyways. No way they want to see decent people moving into the bad and drug laden areas.

Hi--wish I could help but I don't know much about Winchester. But I still would like to extend a warm welcome to your son. I hear Winchester is a nice community, I doubt he will have problems no matter what part of town he's in.

I just called a LEO friend of mine who works in Winchester City. He said if he had to pick a nicer complex it would be Peppertree Apartments.

Funny, I would NEVER live in Peppertree. How close does your son want to be to the university or the Medical Center? Will he have a car? Within Winchester City is where there are more drug problems. In the county part of Winchester, not so much (not that there are not drugs every place). If you look at the Winchester Star on-line, you can find rental listings. I would also check at the University...they may have a place where they post rentals.

I don't know the place and can't vouvh for it but the friend has been there (living and working as a LEO) and he's the one who recommended the place as the one he'd live in if needed.
