Default Help with moving to Stafford County Area...

I've accepted a position at Quantico MCB and will be relocating there at the end of May. We're a family of 4, two small children and are looking for property in the 3-10 acre range.... Would the western part of Stafford County be considered too isolated for small children? Also, we’re considering Northern Spotsylvania and Eastern Fauquier Counties… How do these three counties compare for schools??

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!!!

On the isolation question, it all depends if you're in a neighborhood with 3+ acre lots or just on a random back road. I know in Stafford and Spotsy there are a mix of neighborhoods with large lots and back road homes with large lots. I'm not as familiar with Fauquier As far as schools, all three counties are good, but from personal experience, I feel Stafford's schools are a tad better than Spotys.

Varunner,

Thanks for the info, it really helps to hear from those living in the area. Our research is also pointing more toward Stafford than Spotys, but it's always good to get other perspectives...

I think Stafford is a nice area, I hear the schools are good and you are close to the town of Frederiksburg which is nice.

I have lived in stafford county for over 2 years in the past and I can't say we enjoyed living there. Only reason why we lived there was cause my husband was stationed at quantico. You have to really watch out which neighborhoods you go into. I don't know what your expectations and standards are but it certainly didn't meet mine. I wish you luck!
