Default Falmouth Info?

Looking at possibly purchasing a home in the Falmouth area (near Truslow Rd and Rt 1). I've heard good things about Fredericksburg City and southern Stafford, but didn't have a whole lot of info on the area north of the river that seems to fall under both areas (22405). Is this a good area or should I stay south of the bridge? Is it easy to get to places (shopping, dining, retail, etc) in the area from here? Thanks.

That is a good area in my opinion. I actually have family who lives off of Truslow Rd. The only downside to your location is the heavy traffic at Falmouth Light right there, but you get used to it and find alternatives around it. Also, from that area you can take Truslow Rd. away from rt. 1 and get to rt. 17 where lots of businesses are currently being built up like Lowes, Target, Giant, Walmart and more. For more shopping options, you can wait at the Falmouth light and go into Fredericksburg for shopping.

You might want to look into the new over-pass they are going to build there.

That intersection there is PACKED almost every day. Traffic heading north backs up all the way accross the bridge, and traffic heading south backs up for miles in the evenings.

To fix this, they are going to build an over-pass over Rt. 1, with on and off ramps... which should fix the problem, but will really ruin the look of the area I think. Also, this $22 million project will be spread out between next year and 2017, which means that traffic will probably get a lot worse before it gets better.

Here's an article about it, I'm sure you could find out more information by searching the web:

Fredericksburg.com - Falmouth flyover plan finally prepares for takeoff
I'd really suggest that
