Aaaahhhhh! I haven't had allergies since I was a kid but this spring is killing me down here (moved from Philly last summer). Anyone have any recs for a good allergy doc in the Alexandria/Arlington/McLean area?

I used to see Dr. Peter Latkin; his office is at Seven Corners. He specializes in pediatric allergy but has quite a few adult patients. He's been ranked as one of Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors.

Dr. John Simpson (also one of the Washingtonian best). He's in Falls Church and Kingstowne.

If I can piggy-back here, what about any good recommendations in Western Fairfax County (Reston/Herndon?) I believe Normie told me that there was an allergist right along Elden Street near Stuart Woods and across the street from my office, but at this point they could give me the blasted allergy shot right to the forehead and I'd be a happy camper! I've been talking like a walrus all day with mucus going everywhere!

I got shots for years (and am now happily living mostly allergy-free - woohoo) - from Gil Ruiz (he's in Falls Church though, or at least was at the time, and I was very happy with him).

Dr. Daniel Ein - he's at GWU Hospital - not too far from most parts of Arl/Alex. He always makes the Top Doctors lists. He's knowledgeable, takes the time you need, delightful personality.

Default I vote for Dr. Kim!

I recommend Dr. Theodore Kim at Allergy Partners of Northern Virginia. He's in Chantilly, but I know people who have been driving from Arlington and Mclean to see him because he's so good about spending time and answering questions. My son has been getting allergy shots from that office and he is a totally different kid this spring even with this really high pollen count.

I have been have very pleased with Dr. Kim at Allergy & Asthma Center of Fairfax. My son has been so much better with his allergies and asthma, this was after seeing another pediatric allergist for years. Their web is http://www.fairfaxallergy.com/ i use to check pollen counts

Exclamation DO NOT go to Dr. Theodore Kim!

This dr. office is a joke.
My husband has been going to Dr. Theodore Kim in Chantilly for about 1 year now for his allergy treatment.

The nurses are horrible. Don't notify you ahead of time if your medicines need to be changed all of sudden (one time, they were expired ...duh ..what kind of reason is this?). Aren't they supposed to manage the medicines? Why expire? No planning? Even worse, they didn't notify the patient ahead of time, until my husband came and they told him he has to start over on this medicine again ... because #!$@#@$ reasons.

Today, my husband came for the shot. The made the appointment for him from the last visit. They wrote down on the paper for him the next appointment date. Today he came to the office, they said the doctor is out of town, they can't give him the shot. Don't know they that ahead of time? why didn't call my husband first? And the head of nurse there said they never gave him today's appointment, they posted the note on the office since last month. My husband gave them the appointment paper they gave him last week, that nurse lady ran away saying nothing else. The paper clearly says the appointment date is today. Can't believe it.

This office a joke, don't ever ever go to this office. I wish I can switch the dr for my husband. I just want to hit them in the faces for the stupidities and irresponsibility of them. So many stupid and unbelievable things happened and i can't stand it anymore
