I think that Moo Thru is what you want. It just opened in June in Remington, VA. It's on Route 29 between Warrenton and Culpeper on the southbound side of 29. It's owned by the Smith family and they also run their own dairy farm. Their motto is "real ice cream from real dairy farmers." We tried it recently and it was very good. We were just driving by and couldn't pass it up. It's a walk up place with outdoor seating at picnic benches under a tent with ceiling fans. They also sell milk by the glass bottle.

Please note that they are closed on Mondays!

There's a great ice cream shop in Arlington called Toby's Homemade Ice Cream. It used to be Scoop Beauregards, but the name was recently changed. Not too far away from Clarendon/Rosslyn area, in a little neighborhood called Westover. VERY popular, especially on weekend nights.

Speaking of Westover, I've always loved the milkshakes at The Lost Dog.

So that's what happened to Scoops! Glad to hear it was just a name change.

Great new little place on Maple Avenue in Vienna -- The Maple Avenue Market -- sells hand packed hard ice cream in lots of different flavors. It is right next to The Vienna Inn. I just went in this weekend and it is really cute. Check it out.

On the Gourmet - A Mobile Specialty Food Market

I've been to the shop on Maple Avenue but didn't know they had a delivery service - that's neat.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before or not, but Peterson's Ice Cream Depot in Clifton is pretty good... although it is a bit far from the likes of Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, etc...
