Wasn't the weather yesterday incredible? After all that rain, the sun made everything bloom all at once. And that soft breeze keept it from getting hot or buggy. I didn't want to come in last night, we just sat out on the front steps almost until midnight.

The whole weekend was great although I agree that Sunday was the better of the two. Hopefully we won't be getting too many more belated "April showers".

It was a great way for Mother Nature to pay homage to her fellow mothers on their special day, heyna? (Which to translate is NEPA coal region speak for "Ain't that right?")

My husband and I like to joke that there is one nice day per year here, since it goes from cold to rainy to hot-and-humid so quickly. Well, yesterday was that nice day! But what an awesome one

We went to Shenandoah Valley to camp. Weather was much better than they had predicted. No rain came our way, but was a bit cold &windy so we had to cut a walk short.

Yep, nice to have a dry day and be able to cut my grass. Then again the mudhole in the empty lot next to me is now almost encroaching on my lot. Tried to get this fixed for 6 months, finally got builder's corporate office's attention when sent them picture of it. Now VP of builder's Washington operation coming out on that issue plus the scads of other issues builder has refused to fix. But glad I got to cut my grass - in 2 weeks after last cutting was getting bad with all the rain.

Yeah, Saturday was good...Sunday was just about as good as it gets. I was inspired into yard beautificationing efforts. Once started, I couldn't quit. Too gorgeous not to be out there. Now, there's not enough Advil in the world to make my back forgive me for it. I'm hoping for rain this weekend...

Sunday was so beautiful! That is my kind of weather! My husband and I decided to drive out to Great Falls Park. I have never been and my husband went as a cub scout around 35 years ago. The drive out there was lovely and then we came to a halt on a two lane road, (sorry I forget the name, maybe Georgetown Pike), miles before the entrances to the park. It was just a solid line of cars/brake lights. We were thrilled when we finally made the right hand turn for the park but still it was solid brake lights as far as you could see. We turned around at that point because we had been sitting in traffic for over an hour and couldn't gauge how much longer it would be until we even reached the entrance. If we didn't have plans that evening, we might have just toughed it out.

So anyone who has been to Great Falls Park that has any tips or pointers it would greatly be appreciated as I know we plan to get there soon. LOL I imagine on beautiful days like yesterday it will be crowded!
